This Opportunity
Sunrise Engineering is currently initiating a search for a Construction Observer to support our growing organization. This Full Time position is based in our Star Valley office and will cover projects in Kemmerer and Sweetwater County.
Make a Lasting Impact
A Construction Observer provides both strategic and operational support to service center managers throughout the organization. We are looking for candidates who are:
A Construction Rockstar. You will be responsible for performing field inspection and document review functions on various construction projects, with a particular focus on UDOT roadway projects. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. You'll also handle Materials Testing Field and Laboratory technician responsibilities, including SRDTT, CTT, Asphalt, and more, to ensure project success.
Organizational wizard. Our Construction Observers also perform general administrative and clerical work. This will include preparing reports and correspondence, attending meetings, entering and retrieving data, as well as managing files. Working efficiently under tight deadlines and balancing multiple projects is essential. Clear and concise communication, both verbally and in writing, is vital for conveying information to the team and stakeholders.
Office Savvy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Excel, Word, and Outlook, is essential. In Excel, you should be able to perform tasks such as adding/deleting rows and columns, sorting and filtering data, and conducting basic formatting. For Word, formatting documents and letters, tracking changes, and uploading documents into shared online databases are required skills. In Outlook, you will need to create and maintain an outlook calendar and effectively sort through emails.
Licensed, Certified and ready to go. We are looking for candidates with a valid Driver’s License and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report Inquiry. UDOT requires completion of the Construction Inspection Training Program (CITP) as part of their Quality Assurance Program, which is mandated by CFR 667. Applicants who already possess Sampling, Reduction, and Destiny Testing Technician (SRDTT) and Concrete Testing Technician (CTT) certifications will make you a strong candidate!
