Summary:  The Construction Project Coordinator supports the Area Project Manager in the planning and implementation of construction projects.

Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to assisting with:

  1. Assist with creating and modifying project budgets, plans, schedules, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, details, takeoffs and RFMs.
  2. Assist in identifying needs for subcontracting opportunities, create formal requests for quotes, analyze subcontractor quotes and make recommendations for selection.
  3. Identify, document, communicate, and track project issues.
  4. Review and analyze all plans, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation relating to assigned projects.
  5. Create a detailed takeoff list of materials needed to complete project.
  6. Work through Purchasing to secure needed resources and assist with coordination of delivery.
  7. Secure required permits.
  8. Perform change order preparation, tracking and implementation.
  9. Track, document, report, and invoice for completed work and material on hand/in storage.   
  10. Create sub-pays and authorize payment for subcontractors.
  11. Organize and maintain project folder and documentation.
  12. Work with project superintendents through the project to ensure timely and on-budget completion.   
  13. Visit project jobsites for coordination, conflict resolution or status meetings as well as jobsite visual progress updates.
  14. Assist with all project closeout activities and post-project review.
  15. Address, apply for, and coordinate all activities for utility connections needed for assigned projects.  


Required Qualifications:

  1. Work experience in a construction management, administration, or planning position.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  3. Valid Texas driver license.

Required Competencies:

  1. Knowledge of construction industry contracts, practices, processes, and standards, and their impact on project activities.
  2. Familiarity with construction safety protocols and procedures.
  3. Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and diagrams.
  4. Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures.
  5. Ability to perform duties in a professional manner.
  6. Proficient in using computer applications to include Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) HCSS and Foundation preferred.  
  7. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.  
  8. Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements.  
  9. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  10. Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.  
  11. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.

Working Environment:

Work is performed primarily indoors, sitting and performing work using a computer for long periods of time.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting for up to eight (8) hours per day.
  • Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 30 pounds occasionally and 15 pounds frequently. 
  • Occasional walking, bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.
  • Visual acuity to drive a motor vehicle, read printed material, and read electronic documents.
  • Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common office environment noises.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate, handle, and feel.
  • Occasional travel by motor vehicle throughout Texas, driving for up to eight (8) hours per day.
