Position Overview

An established facilities and construction services organization is seeking an experienced Construction / Project Manager 2 to support a large energy-focused account in Houston, TX. This role serves as a key member of the Design and Construction management team and is responsible for overseeing capital projects from planning through implementation.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing new construction, renovations, and MEP infrastructure projects within critical operating environments. This position requires strong leadership, financial oversight, contractor management, and the ability to work effectively in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring projects are executed according to plan.

  • Review contractual scope of work and evaluate impacts of client-issued directives, bulletins, or schedule changes.

  • Manage change orders, cost estimates, proposal preparation, and negotiate final pricing.

  • Monitor project financials and provide regular progress updates to leadership.

  • Coordinate with consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.

  • Lead and attend job progress meetings.

  • Oversee construction activities including scheduling, financial management, quality control, and safety compliance.

  • Ensure design adaptations meet applicable codes, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage subcontractor performance and ensure alignment with project timelines.

  • Perform administrative functions including documentation management, meeting coordination, and stakeholder communication.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as liaison throughout project lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction/project management experience in new construction, renovations, and MEP infrastructure.

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience.

  • At least 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services.

  • Experience working in critical environments preferred.

  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire).

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Project, Procore, and Bluebeam.

  • Ability to work effectively in environments with evolving processes and competing priorities.
