Description

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing a specific project or wide range of different construction projects from beginning to end. They will lead a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document construction issues in addition to creating procedures to make construction reporting processes more efficient and accurate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit project budgets, ensure that project falls within scope.
  • Manage company resources efficiently regarding expenses, contracts, change orders and any additional costs/expenses.
  • Manage resources of the construction crews, i.e., tools, machines, transportation.
  • Manage contractor/subcontractors to ensure quality control, cost control and adherence to agreed upon schedule.
  • Provide all necessary input to project accounting system to ensure accurate record keeping for all projects, i.e., send PO’s, sign invoices, etc.
  • Review and update as necessary job cost forecasting reports.
  • Review and approve contractor/subcontractor requisitions.
  • Prepare/Oversee project close-out.
  • Interfacing with customers and supervising contractor/subcontractors on a daily basis.
  • Monitor project status to ensure the project adheres to the project schedule and expectations.
  • Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses.
  • Compose bids and select contractors/subcontractors based on bid analysis provided to management.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractor/subcontractors to ensure delivery of equipment and services to meet expectations.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Resolving problems with vendors, design documents, submittals, etc.
  • Mange contractors/subcontractors work product, schedule, and change orders.
  • Manage construction crew in order to carry out project.

Key Performance Indicators

  1. Effectively manage Quadvest construction crew schedules with project deadlines.
  2. Effectively communicate to Management, Customer Service and Operations on project status via end of the week construction updates.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year University.
  • 3 years of Project Management experience.
  • Prefer experience in the Utility Industry
  • ERP experience.
  • Experience prioritizing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience handling confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
  • D water and wastewater license or above preferred.

Language/Math/Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient computer skills, including electronic mail software, compliance software.
 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
  • Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.

Working Environment

  • The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
  • Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
  • 40+ hours/week and occasionally weekends required according to the needs of the department; schedule set by Construction as needed to meet production schedules.
  • No overnight travel by land and/or air.
