Position Overview

Environmental Design Group is seeking a qualified Project Manager to pursue, plan, and manage projects within our Construction Management Client Service Group. This role will lead teams of engineers and technicians performing construction inspections, oversight, and project documentation for public and private sector projects. Responsibilities may include construction administration, quality control, dispute resolution, pre-construction services, and stakeholder communication.


The Project Manager will provide technical leadership, client management, and mentorship to junior staff while overseeing project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and risk management. This role requires regular client communication, coordination with regulatory agencies and project teams, proposal and contract development, and maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. Supervise associates directly or indirectly and provide ongoing direction specific to project tasks, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to become prequalified as a CE-2 with the Ohio Department of Transportation a plus.
  • Ohio PE License is required. 
  • 10+ years of related experience are preferred.
  • 7+ years of supervisory experience are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills are required.

  • Conduct title research to verify property ownership. 
  • Negotiate right-of-way acquisitions with landowners in compliance with ODOT and federal requirements. 
  • Manage closings and ensure all acquisition documents are accurate and complete. 
  • Use acquisition tools and processes required to clear projects. 
  • Communicate with property owners, stakeholders, and project teams to maintain schedules. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and support project delivery. 
  • Leverage technology to improve efficiency and workflow. 
  • Maintain organized project documentation. 
  • Perform field activities as required. Follow company quality and safety protocols. 
  • Apply analytical problem-solving to acquisition and project challenges.

Physical and Travel Requirements 

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods. 
  • Local travel during business hours may be required. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required in accordance with company insurance standards. 

Supervisor Responsibility

This position will directly supervise other associates.
