- Full Time - 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- 80 hours per pay period
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the “Brick and Mortar” portion of all buildings. Walls, ceilings, doors, flooring, windows, roofs, exterior envelope, or as instructed by Director of Facilities.
- Completes work orders and preventative maintenance items through CMMS and maintains accurate information within the work order program.
- Works with fellow employees or those of other departments to help meet the responsibilities of the department and the overall mission of GLHS.
- Performs duties in a safe manner when using power or hand tools and working on or around equipment. Oversees use of proper personal protective equipment applicable to the task (protective goggles, earplugs, protective gloves, etc.)
- Performs electrical inspection of equipment and hand tools before usage. Always utilizes the Lock-Out, Tag-Out when working on electrical power and equipment and follows the National Electrical Code for repairs and installations.
- Shall, at times, be required to work non-typical hours to meet construction schedules. Nontypical hours would also include working weekends.
- Coordinates with Facilities staff or contractors and may assist with plumbing, mechanical or electrical tasks.
- Performs and oversees the remodeling and infrastructure repair work consisting of demolition, installation and replacement of walls, ceilings, doors, frames, and flooring. wall painting and repair and installation of wall fixtures. Ensure all work is performed in a timely and safe manner according to planned specifications and the current Ohio Basic Building and NFPA codes.
- Attends work area meetings and in-services related to the hospital and work area responsibilities and Mission goal. Completes assigned Net Learning modules.
- Works with other departments to complete snow and ice removal from the Hospital, Medical Centers and all Out Buildings.
- Works independently or as a part of a team on remodeling projects.
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings & specifications.
- Assists with fire drills when required
- Assists with life safety inspections and repairs.
- Responds to all codes that require Security assistance.
- Provides security to all GLHS facilities and fill out Security Reports when necessary. Performs security related tasks as needed.

- Framing & rough carpentry
- Painting & drywall finishing
- Cabinetry installation
- Window & door repairs and installation
- Flooring installation (wood, laminate, vinyl, VCT, ceramic tile, etc)
- Finish trim & carpentry
Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Prior Construction experience will be given additional consideration.
