Job Overview
Our client, a leading general contractor in Ohio, is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and coordinate all phases of commercial construction projects in Dayton OH. This role is responsible for managing daily on-site operations, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and architects, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, hands-on construction experience, and a commitment to safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide daily on-site management of construction projects
• Champion and uphold the company’s strong culture of safety by leading through example
• Maintain project schedules, supplier coordination, costs, and quality standards
• Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, project managers, and owners
• Perform light self-perform carpentry tasks as needed (doors, hardware, blocking, partitions, etc.)
• Maintain required documentation including daily reports, timesheets, safety audits, and drawings
• Mediate onsite challenges and resolve conflicts efficiently
• Conduct project walkthroughs and manage aftercare/punch list items upon completion
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proven ability to lead construction projects on-site effectively and positively
• OSHA 10-Hour certification required (30-Hour preferred), Training available through The Builders Exchange of Central Ohio, if needed
• Comfortable with basic technology (email, smartphones, tablets, digital documentation)
• Highly organized with strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Education & Experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Foreman and/or Superintendent
• High School Diploma or GED required
