Felix Construction Company is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent that will lead the construction efforts of water and wastewater treatment projects throughout the Dallas metro area ($250k – $20M). The Individual must have water/wastewater industry or similar heavy construction experience leading crews. Requires advanced construction experience, leadership skills and training ability.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Closely work with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and others involved in projects.
- Direct work of construction crew on job site, leading by example and keeping the project progressing.
- Identify critical project risks and find resolutions before they impact the project.
- Be well versed and capable of leading a crew to install process pipe, process equipment, concrete and architectural features or metals.
- Successfully build projects > $7.5 million, such as lift stations, well sites and plant retrofits.
- Ensure overall safety on the job site for employees, subcontractors, visitors and public while correcting non-compliant safety health or environmental requirements or behaviors as necessary.
- Train, mentor, and manage performance of crew members, promptly handles poor performance and recognized excellent performance by providing timely feedback.
- Coordinate activity plans with the Project Manager and understand overall project schedule in order to manage assigned project activities.
- Participate in preconstruction planning to define quality standards, material requirements, scheduling inspections and safe work planning.
- Represent the company in a professional manner.
- Work from various Felix Construction job sites around the Valley.
WHO YOU ARE:
- 10+ years of water/wastewater construction industry experience highly desired.
- Ability to use smart phone, experience with tablet or laptop, basic Microsoft Outlook skills, Excel, Bluebeam and AutoCAD viewer required.
- Able to read plans and specifications for all the disciplines on a typical water/wastewater project.
- Exposure to Alternative Procurement Delivery Method (APDM) experience highly desired (CSP, CMAR, D-B, JOC, etc.).
- Take initiative and handle ambiguity well.
- Work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
- Have driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Have the legal right to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position requires working on construction job sites in extreme temperatures. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and use hand tools associated with the construction industry. Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust and focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods, walk, sit, kneel, bend, reach with hands and arms, hear, and talk.
