 Construction Superintendent (Multifamily Projects)
Location: Columbus OH

Position Summary
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site construction activities for multifamily residential projects. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards. The Superintendent manages subcontractors, enforces safety compliance, and maintains effective communication with project managers, inspectors, and stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Project Site Management
• Supervise daily on-site construction activities for multifamily developments.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and labor to maintain project schedules.
• Ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and local building codes.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and compliance.
Schedule & Workflow Coordination
• Develop and maintain short-term construction schedules.
• Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
• Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and subcontractor sequencing.
Safety Management
• Enforce company and OSHA safety policies on the job site.
• Conduct safety meetings and ensure proper safety practices are followed.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective safety measures.
Quality Control
• Ensure construction meets quality standards and project specifications.
• Monitor workmanship of subcontractors.
• Manage punch lists and ensure timely completion of corrective work.
Communication & Reporting
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for project stakeholders.
• Maintain daily reports documenting progress, manpower, weather, and issues.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
Cost Control
• Assist in monitoring project budgets and labor productivity.
• Identify potential cost overruns and communicate issues to project management.
• Review subcontractor work to verify completion before approvals.
 
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; construction management degree preferred.
• 5+ years of construction experience with multifamily residential projects.
• Previous experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades.
