JOB SUMMARY
 
Responsible for directing, managing, supervising and coordinating the work and activities of the various trade groups on the work site to meet requirements as described in the statement of work or contracts. Implementing and managing the safety program for the project.
 
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Ensure that the project maintains the required schedule by organizing, planning, monitoring, and inspecting work.
  • Prepare schedules or assist scheduler for pay estimates and 3–week look ahead.
  • Prepare takeoff or assist project engineer with all required materials and ensure that materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time.
  • Assist project engineer in defining subcontract scope of work and verifying that the subcontractor is on the project when required and progress in accordance with the schedule.
  • Oversee that the activities of various workers do not interfere with one another.
  • Inspect the work of each trade and confirm that not only the quality of the work is up to standard, but that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.
  • Maintain the safety program and enforce safety regulations and building code requirements.
  • Plan and run daily safety meeting, Activity Hazardous Activity trainings with in house trade staff and subcontractor.
  • Plan and run weekly progress meeting and assist in the performance of Quality Control preparatory meetings and inspection.
  • Assist with project estimates, bid packages, and schedule preparation and budgets.
  • Responsible for compliance and implementation of 29 CFR 1926 and USACE EM 385-1-1 Nov. 2014.
  • Responsible for regular site inspections and safety audits.
  • Proficient with accident reporting and root cause investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of seven years of supervisory construction experience
  • Minimum of five years of Construction Safety Training
  • 24 hours of safety training every four year years
  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer applications
  • 30 hour OSHA certifications
  • Valid Driver’s License – Clear Drivers Abstract
  • Experience with Federal DOD Government contracting
  • Familiar with EM 385-1-1 and have completed a 40 hr. EM 385-1-1 certification
Preferred:
  • Construction Related Degree
  • Current Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certificate
  • Contractors Quality Control Certificate (Corps of Engrs. or NAVFAC)
  • High attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Competent person training in construction related activites such as scaffolding, excavation, fall protection, confined space etc.
Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate work requirements with various staff and subcontractors
  • Able to communicate both written and verbally in English
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change
  • Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
