    Construction Trades Teacher

    This individual teaches construction electives for students district wide and provides instruction for the Construction Trades program. Teacher Essential Functions:
     
    1. Serve as an instructor of the program; tending to daily operations of the program. Maintain ongoing interaction with members of school administration, teaching, and counseling staff.
    2. Work closely with the industry partners for guidance, direction and materials.
    3. Provide services and supplementary materials to support instruction on an ongoing basis.
    4. Assist with student career plan/portfolio/resume.
    5. Align instruction to the current post-secondary component for the program.
    6. Develop ongoing commitment and support for the program.
    7. Develop activities emphasizing improvement of problem solving, communications and life skills.
    8. Develop and supervise external activities (site visits, speakers, tours, industry seminars) as appropriate.
    9. Support curriculum development and program approval requirements.
    10. Teach a rigorous and relevant curriculum in the subject area.
    11. Align instruction to standards, assessments, and partner expectations.
    12. Review student data to design and differentiate curriculum as well as provide socioemotional supports.
    13. Administer required technical assessments and complete employability profiles.
      

    Education, Experience, And Certification

     
    1. Hold a Valid Idaho Teacher Certification
    2. Experience in the following areas: Carpentry or Residential/Commercial Building Maintenance & Remodeling OR be willing to work towards certification over the next three to five years.
    3. High School diploma plus 5 years of employment in related fields.
    4. 5 + years of employment with specialization in Construction Trades.
    5. Preferred but not required: Experience teaching or working with high school students in a classroom and/or in a structured environment.
