CQA (Construction Quality Assurance) Technician

SCS is looking for a full-time Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) technician for our Houston and Bedford, TX offices. The person may be located remote to these offices. CQA technicians work with scientists and engineers on a variety of municipal solid waste landfill, groundwater well monitoring, industrial site inspections, and chemical/petroleum spill projects. 

• Landfill liner, cap, and/or gas system construction quality assurance (CQA)
• Soils testing for structural fill and clay liner and final covers preferred
• Geosynthetics testing and data collection in the field required
• Field notes and data log preparation for soils and geosynthetics
• Construction meetings and minutes preparation
• Good communication skills with contractors and clients
• Independent worker
• Groundwater monitoring
• Landfill gas monitoring
• Site inspections

• Associate degree in an environmental, civil, or construction related field preferred
• 3 years of landfill CQA experience preferred. 
• Completion or willingness to complete a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required
• Solid technical, mechanical, and computer skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time required
• Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required
• Ability to travel overnight for work across the US
• Extended out of town fieldwork is required

USD $22.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
