Position Overview: 
The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the technical design of assigned projects.  He/she relies upon an extensive level of engineering knowledge in the electrical & parallel fields. He/she coordinates the activities of team members and assures production meets schedules. The Electrical Engineer II provides technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to team members to ensure the total quality of all engineering efforts. 
Responsibilities are focused on the technical design of assigned projects and can exercise independent control over the project design and production tasks. He/she supervises the tasks and methods used by the other personnel assigned to the project. The Engineer II refers his assignments to the Senior Engineer for a general review of the final results. 

Essential Job Functions: 
  • The Electrical Engineer II is accountable for the projects assigned to him/her and the complete performance of the assigned personnel, including the quality of all engineering efforts and designs, assuring the project is completed to the client's satisfaction.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work.
  • The guidelines, practices, and policies of the business unit and company must be followed.  Projects may be highly complex and require non-routine solutions.
  • Responsible for coordinating efforts between disciplines and developing a team approach to project completion. 
  • The Electrical Engineer II activities will include but are not limited to: Scope of work: Begin to build the scope of work picture with design narratives, drawings, and dialogue with the Senior Engineer, the project manager, or the owner as necessary, asking questions as appropriate 
  • Meet with the owner/client to advance the scope of work and fill in the detail for a smooth process.  Pertinent data is collected by gathering any drawings the client has on hand, conducting site inspection and investigation, or meeting with PM.  
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (internal or external), Authority Having Jurisdiction, and with the owner/client.  
  • Utilize advanced code knowledge related to the design and installation of equipment and the area of the project. 
  • Prepare calculations for equipment sizing and selection. 
  • Interact with vendors when necessary. 
  • Complete design of building electrical systems. 
  • Include modifications, as necessary, based upon owner/client changes. 
  • Include any owner/client comments into the drawings. 
  • Edit specifications for job-specific criteria. 
  • Provide redlines and/or direction to designers and technicians and review their work for quality and consistency. 
  • Project Management. 
  • Attend client meetings and communicate action items to the team. 
  • Document all communication to and from the client.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals
  • Maintain project schedule, monitor progress, and resolve issues
  • QC own work and work completed by technicians assigned to the project and provide markups for drafting in Revit
Position Requirements:
  • 5+ Years of experience in the A/E environment 
  • Demonstrated success in project design 
  • Practical REVIT expertise is required. 
  • Degree in engineering and PE preferred
