Job Overview

Hass Co LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator - Underground Construction to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead the development of accurate bids and proposals for heavy civil construction projects, specializing in areas such as site development, utility construction, boring & tunneling, earth retention/trench shoring, pile driving, dewatering systems, and deep foundations. As an Estimator, you will collaborate closely with project stakeholders, providing the precision and expertise needed to secure and execute successful projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret project blueprints, drawings, specifications, and documentation to develop detailed cost estimates.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive bid proposals for various heavy civil construction projects, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Conduct detailed take-offs and apply advanced math and business calculations to estimate materials and project costs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and equipment.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, project site visits, and job walks to gather necessary insights.
  • Utilize software tools like HCSS-Heavy Bid, B2W, or AutoCAD to streamline estimating processes.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks, providing solutions and recommendations during the bidding phase.
  • Support project execution by assisting with submittals, pay estimates, final billings, collections, and procurement activities.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in heavy civil construction estimating, with a focus on underground construction projects.
  • Expertise in cost estimation, reading blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, including proficiency in algebra and geometry.
  • Proficiency with software tools such as HCSS-Heavy Bid, B2W, and AutoCAD.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with clients and project teams.
  • Willingness to travel for pre-bid meetings, job walks, and site visits.

Work Schedule
