Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a Project Manager for the General Construction team to lead the development and execution of infrastructure/engineering projects at the Naval Reactors Facility in Idaho. Projects in the construction portfolio range from short duration (<1yr) to multi-year, multi-million-dollar projects, to replacement-in-kind or renovation of aging infrastructure and systems. The Project Manager leads a multidisciplinary team in the development of scope, schedule, and cost to establish a baseline plan to place and execute through a construction contract.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Overall responsibility for several projects at various stages of development and execution.
• Leads a project team to partner with the sponsor and system owners in development of project scope, requirements, planning assumptions, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Establishes and maintains strong relationships with project stakeholders, engineering, management, customers, and peers to ensure the progression and success of projects and the facility.
• Reviews and concurs with project contracts and contract changes and ensures contract obligations are met.
• Responsible for the development of periodic project assessments/reports and communicates status with stakeholders, the customer, and senior management.
• Reviews project and portfolio performance metrics and takes appropriate action with stakeholders and functional management to correct deviations from the plan.
• Develops the roles and responsibilities for all project stakeholders and takes action ensure commitments are being met.
• Provides feedback to functional managers regarding project team member’s performance.
• Prepares and manages project plans and associated planning components (i.e., risk management, communication, change control, quality).
• Develops project team members to assume increased project support responsibilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in both written and verbal communication
• Experience with planning and executing projects
• Experience with scheduling software (i.e. Primavera P6, MS Project)
• Knowledgeable of 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Regulations and Standards
• Experience with development/review of cost estimates
• PMP certification is desired
