Description

The Field Craft Recruiter will report to the Senior Field HR Manager. The Field Craft Recruiter will be responsible to execute full life cycle craft recruiting activities. The Field Craft Recruiter will be responsible to attract, source, recruit and retain skilled construction craft and trade professionals within the commercial and residential construction market segments. The Field Craft Recruiter will leverage their expertise to build and maintain a diverse talent pipeline that aligns with organizational goals. This position will work closely with hiring managers, HR, workforce development, marketing, and other third-party labor providers to identify, plan, and implement recruiting strategies and needs. Tasks will include but are not limited to sourcing, screening, and selection of field craft positions

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Executes full cycle recruiting and selection processes such as: assess labor and project needs, assess job criteria, screen and identify candidates, interview and provide recommendations on potential candidates.
  • Proactively collaborates with hiring managers, HR, Talent, and business partners to identify field craft recruiting needs and gaps
  • Aids in the design and development of MAREK’s field craft recruiting strategy across the business to align with organizational goals
  • Actively identifies and develops innovative ways for addressing field labor challenges 
  • Supports internal teams on matters related to forecasting project labor needs while ensuring Marek adheres to contractual and legal requirements
  • Networks and builds relationships with potential candidate communities
  • Manage respective candidate pools to ensure qualified candidates remain engaged in current or future opportunities
  • Effectively represents and markets MAREK’s employment brand and company values to attract and retain top talent
  • Serves as a Marek Ambassador at various events such as community and client events, career fairs, and recruiting events
  • Partners with HR/Talent Development teams to champion and support internal succession planning for field craft employees
  • Manages requests and communication with third party labor providers to staff project and business needs
  • Actively researches and maintains a current in-depth knowledge of construction market trends, competitors, and general talent availability
  • Analyzes, reports, and communicates regularly with hiring managers, HR and Talent teams on company’s hiring needs, progress, and organizational goals
  • Ensures a positive candidate experience and promotes MAREK’s benefits, compensation, culture, and work environment
  • Occasional local domestic travel within Texas and United States to jobsites for recruiting related support, recruiting related events, and/or general visits.  
  • Perform other duties as needed. 

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of recruiting/talent acquisition experience for craft personnel in construction or similar industry  
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Organizational Management, Human Resources and/or SPHR/PHR or SHRM SCP/CP certification a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of candidate selection methods
  • Excellent understanding of full cycle recruitment and selection process
  • Experience with HRIS, Applicant tracking, Sourcing, and Recruitment Marketing tools
  • Ability to build strong partnerships across reporting relationships
  • Adept at multi-tasking 
  • Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish required

 

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Able to perform work indoors in an office environment, as well as outdoors on a project jobsite.
  • Able to communicate orally in a clear manner. 
  • Able to travel to branch locations and jobsites 
  • Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone. 
  • Ability to navigate construction jobsites, which includes wearing necessary personal protective equipment, climbing stairs and/or ladders. 
  • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods of time creating, composing, and reviewing documents and spreadsheets. 
  • Able to operate office equipment, including telephone, mobile phone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, and calculator.
