Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible to ensure projects proceed safely, accurately, and smoothly. The Foreman reports to the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Safety Officer.

  • Identify and schedule each component of the plan and assign appropriate manpower and equipment to each activity daily.
  • Identifying and completing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) prior to daily work beginning.
  • Experience in line locating and reporting with Texas 811 and Lonestar 811.
  • Mentoring direct reporting team including managing employee time and attendance, ability to input expense report in a timely manner, notify appropriate management of machinery maintenance utilizing software systems provided.
  • At the outset of each day, meet with each assigned employee to clearly and effectively communicate to that employee their required personal daily activity
  • Coordinate with and direct the activity of all job site crews, subcontractors and material and equipment providers, and effectively interfaces with clients, inspectors, and regulatory representatives and other necessary individuals or organizations.
  • Partners with Safety Officer for appropriate training, issues, and continuing education for team ensuring prompt reporting of safety issues and injuries.
  • At the end of each day, accurately report all job site time and activity, review performance-to-plan with Project Engineer and or Project Manager and adjust the following day’s assignments, resources, and schedules.
  • Monitor all job site activity throughout the day, coordinating and balancing activity to ensure that the daily plan is achieved, making adjustments in assignment as necessary for the plan, schedule and budget is adhered to.
  • Responsible for individual and direct reports proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and necessary inventory needed per safety guidelines per project.
  • Working from contract documents, project plan and schedules and other relevant information, create a weekly/daily Project Work Plan.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a field environmentΒ 
  • Minimum of 2 years in mentoring type role such Foreman, Assistant Foreman, or Job Trainer for crew
  • Ability to review and understand plan specifications, plans, and drawings
  • Ability to effectively communicate both oral and written
  • Knowledge of Software systems such as Paycom, Asset Panda, Fast Field, and other software base management systems
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Explorer and Outlook
  • Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with all levels of employees, clients, and subcontractors

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs
  • Ability to work within extreme heat and cold elements
