JOB TITLE: FOREMAN MAINTENANCE-MOBILE MAINTENANCE

SALARY SCHEDULE:
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assists the Director of Maintenance with the administration and management of all Departmental functions. Ensures implementation of long-term departmental goals. Review building conditions at all district facilities regularly. All deficiencies are to be noted and plans for timely repairs are to be put in place.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification/Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, associate degree or higher preferred.
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license and meet/maintain insurance requirements of PISD.
- Must pass initial drug test and be part of a random drug testing program.
- Must pass criminal history check.
Special Knowledge/ Skills/Experience
- Proficient in the use of common business applications and procedures.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must have general knowledge of building trades.
- Capable of making independent, on the spot, "safe to operate" decisions regarding safety of students, staff and the general public.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
- Understanding of all types of tools and equipment for trade supervisors.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interprets policy, procedures, and data; ability to coordinate district functions.
- 5 years of experience in a maintenance-related organization.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Prepares daily, weekly and monthly work schedules and assigns work orders for maintenance employees under his/her supervision.
- Performs on the job training for employees under his/her supervision.
- Plans projects, orders supplies and parts necessary to complete tasks.
- Monitors progress of jobs, projects, etc. under his/her direction and assures timely completion.
- Keeps maintenance director and building administrators updated of projects completed and in progress.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area.
- Be an example of diligence in work and persistence.
- Ensure that each employee under his/her supervision is held accountable for his/her actions and quality of his/her performance.
- Promote safe working habits by each employee under his/her supervision.
- Responds to emergency situations as needed (both regular and after hours).
- Carry emergency pager 24 hours/day, 7 days/week on a rotating basis.
- Participate in the interview process to hire new technicians he/she will supervise.
- Recommend and justify pay grade increases and new personnel in the areas supervised as part of the budget process.
- Prepare requests for specialty tools/materials for each budget year.
- Visits with campus staff to resolve maintenance, safety, and emergency issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
