We are currently seeking skilled and experienced Industrial Electricians to join our team for a construction project involving the installation and maintenance of temporary site power for a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM).
Job Overview:As an Industrial Electrician with SiteWorker, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining temporary site power systems for a construction project utilizing a TBM. This role requires expertise in high voltage systems, power distribution, motor controls, and adherence to strict safety protocols. You will work closely with the project team to ensure a stable and safe power supply throughout the construction site.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and maintain high voltage power systems, including transformers, switchgear, and distribution panels.
• Set up and manage temporary power distribution systems on the construction site.
• Install power cables in trenches or conduits, ensuring proper grounding and compliance with safety regulations.
• Work with motor controls and automation systems, including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to support the operation of the TBM.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth TBM operation.
• Conduct regular maintenance on the TBM's power systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician on construction sites, preferably with experience in tunnel boring machines or similar equipment.
• Strong knowledge of high voltage installation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in setting up and managing temporary power distribution systems.
• Experience with motor controls and automation systems, including VFDs and PLCs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance with safety regulations.
• Relevant electrical certifications and licenses as required by state or local regulations.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with power systems for heavy machinery or TBMs.
• Familiarity with construction site safety protocols.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
