STARTING SALARY : $138.99 / DAY
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of commercial air conditioning, heating, and building automation systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and meet/maintain insurance requirements of PISD.
- Must pass an initial drug test and be part of a random drug testing program.
- Must pass a criminal history check.
Special Knowledge/ Skills/Experience - Demonstrate general knowledge of operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of work-related systems of designated craft.
- Demonstrates the ability to work unsupervised.
- Hold EPA Certification in refrigerant recovery (universal) or be able to obtain within one year of taking the position.
- General knowledge of tools used in designated craft.
- Demonstrate ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- One year experience preferred and willing to progress in skill level.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC equipment and BAS systems.
- Completes work orders as requested.
- Assist with the repairs of major HVAC equipment such as compressors, pumps, motors, and other related equipment under the supervision of a licensed HVAC technician.
- Completes preventative maintenance of equipment as assigned.
- Must have a working knowledge of computer systems regarding email, work order, and time entry systems.
- Assist other crafts as needed
- Must be willing to respond to occasional after-hour emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting, must have use of all faculties. Must be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms. Work outside. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials. May work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
