Serving Arkansas with excellence for over 50 years, Klaasmeyer Construction Company is looking our next Inventory Control Specialist to join the Business Operations team. This role that sits at the intersection of procurement, vendor management, and inventory control. You'll validate BOMs, coordinate bids, issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and make sure materials are where they need to be when the job needs them.

Requirements

What You'll Be Doing

  • Validating Bills of Materials and coordinating vendor bids — verifying accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and preparing bid packages for required materials
  • Evaluating vendor bids for cost, lead times, and spec compliance and providing purchasing recommendations to the Procurement Manager
  • Issuing purchase orders and tracking open POs through to confirmed delivery
  • Verifying received materials against packing slips and purchase orders — resolving discrepancies in the ERP system accurately and without delay
  • Monitoring project-level material usage, reconciling planned versus actual consumption, and flagging variances
  • Coordinating material returns, vendor credits, and project close-out reconciliation
  • Supporting cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and minimum stocking level management
  • Working closely with warehouse personnel, field supervisors, vendors, and the Procurement Manager to keep materials aligned with project schedules

What We Need From You

  • 2–3 years of experience in procurement, inventory control, purchasing, or a closely related operations role
  • Experience with BOM validation, purchase order processing, and vendor coordination preferred
  • Proficient with construction ERP platforms for purchase order processing and inventory tracking
  • Strong Excel skills — pivot tables, reconciliation, and data analysis are part of the daily work
  • Detail-oriented and analytical — you catch discrepancies before they become problems
  • Clear communicator — able to work effectively with vendors, warehouse staff, field supervisors, and management
  • Construction, utility, or telecom materials experience is a strong plus
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred

The Physical Reality

  • This is primarily a desk-based office role. Most of your day will be at your computer managing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, reconciling inventory data, and coordinating with vendors and the project team. Occasional visits to the various company yards or project sites for material verification. 
  • Extended periods of seated computer work for data entry, analysis, and documentation
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Periodic standing and walking in the office, warehouse, or yard
