We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Electrician to join our growing team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical systems, with a specific focus on Air Handler Units (AHUs) and duct work installation and maintenance. This role involves working on a variety of HVAC systems, ensuring proper installation, wiring, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
● Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in Air Handler Units (AHUs) and associated duct work.
● Perform wiring of electrical components such as motors, relays, switches, and control panels within AHUs.
● Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to install, maintain, and troubleshoot systems.
● Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical malfunctions in HVAC systems.
● Ensure the proper functioning of electrical equipment, maintaining compliance with safety standards and local building codes.
● Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems in Air Handler Units and associated duct work.
● Troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose root causes, and provide solutions in a timely manner.
● Work with project managers and other team members to coordinate installation schedules and project timelines.
● Ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and up to company and regulatory standards.
● Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and system condition.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or technical certification in electrical or mechanical engineering is a plus).
● Valid Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification preferred.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Electrician or similar role with a focus on HVAC systems.
● Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
● Strong experience with wiring, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in AHUs and related HVAC equipment.
● Solid knowledge of electrical safety codes and standards.
● Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
● Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
● Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor with clients and co-workers.
