JOB TITLE: PREVENTIVE MAINT APPRENTICE LEVEL 1
DUTY DAYS: 240
PAY GRADE: N04-11
SALARY SCHEDULE:
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To maintain building and structures in a manner consistent with PISD standards as to appearance and function.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification/Education: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and meet and maintain the insurance requirements of PISD.
- Must pass an initial drug test and be part of a random drug testing program.
- Must pass a criminal history check.
Special Knowledge/ Skills/Experience
- Willing to progress in skill level
- General knowledge of tools used in designated craft.
- No experience required
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Completes work orders concerning repairs and adjustments.
- Installs all types of air filters on HVAC equipment
- Unloads and stocks filters in warehouse
- Makes routine adjustments to start or stop seasonal equipment.
- Completes preventative maintenance inspections of equipment as assigned
- Assist with the maintenance of equipment such as pumps, motors, and other related equipment
- Completes preventative maintenance of equipment as assigned.
- Operates power washers, blowers, paint striping machines
- Coordinate and move indoor air quality equipment.
- Must have a working knowledge of computer systems in regards to email, work order and time entry systems
- Assist other crafts as needed
- Must be willing to respond to occasional after hour emergencies
- Perform other duties as assigned

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions
Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting, must have use of all faculties. Must be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms. Work outside. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials. May work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
