Responsibilities

The Process Safety Engineer will have responsibility for the oversight and execution of the Process Safety Program at the Texas City site. This position conducts engineering analyses to ensure process safety compliance and alignment with corporate objectives.  The Process Safety Engineer reports to the Manager – HSES (Texas City, Texas).   
Job responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
•    Serves as a site resource for process safety knowledge. Develops and mentors other employees in process safety to improve process safety capabilities of the organization.
•    Leads Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and serves as LOPA practioner
•    Champion and facilitate the Process Safety Governance Committee maintaining leading and lagging indicators to measure the health of the process safety program
•    Develop and maintain site safety procedures and policies
•    Participate in project reviews and provide expertise as needed
•    Conduct facility siting for permanent and temporary buildings. Provide oversight for facility siting program. 
•    Liaison with corporate risk management
•    Ensures effective execution of management of change, safe operating limits, and other process safety programs. 
•    Participate on Texas Chemical Council Process Safety Committee
•    Participate in corporate teams as appropriate
•    Collaborate with resources at corporate and other Eastman sites to benchmark and identify best practices
•    Facilitates and participates in incident investigations for process safety events and significant incidents
•    Responsible for the site’s Risk Management Plan (RMP)

Qualifications 
•    BS degree required (Preferred discipline Chemical Engineering or similar technical discipline)
•    Minimum 5 years' experience required in chemical or industrial manufacturing PSM environment 
•    Experience in leading PHAs and conducting risk assessments
