EBM Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate agricultural construction projects from planning through completion. This on‑site position will be located Lincoln, NE and will be responsible for managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and project milestones to ensure high‑quality, timely results. The Project Manager will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to oversee procurement, maintain safety and compliance, and resolve project challenges proactively. Ideal candidates have strong organizational skills, construction management experience (agricultural projects preferred), and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse stakeholders.

General Summary of the Position



The Project Manager leads agricultural construction projects across the Midwest. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising on-site activities for EBM personnel and subcontractors in the construction, renovation, and maintenance of agricultural structures, facilities, and material handling systems.

The Project Manager will also oversee scheduling, coordination, and workflow optimization for crews, equipment, and materials across EBM divisions, managing both long-term projects and short-term service needs such as breakdowns and repairs.


Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with crew foremen, team members, warehouse staff, clients, contractors, and design professionals to resolve project scope, quality requirements, and work procedures.
  • Manage and resolve construction-related issues and client concerns.
  • Coordinate project activities by determining crew size, equipment needs, and scheduling to ensure timely completion. Arrange for specialized equipment (e.g., cranes) as required.
  • Develop and maintain short-term schedules for repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports. Monitor billing, finalize documentation, and protect profitability through change orders and clarifications.
  • Travel and stay near project sites during construction and start-up phases to monitor progress, resolve issues, assist subcontractors/crew members, and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Investigate damages, accidents, or delays to ensure compliance with guidelines and specifications.
  • Enforce on-site safety procedures in accordance with federal and local regulations.
  • Occasionally assist with material handling and storage, including heavy lifting (50–90 lbs.), pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, climbing, and working in tight spaces under challenging field conditions.
  • Regular and punctual attendance at designated location is an essential function of this position.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of materials, processes, methods, and tools used in agricultural construction, renovation, and maintenance.
  • Reading and understanding of construction specifications to include, but not limited to Architectural / Structural drawings and ASI's, RFI's, and CPR's
  • Understanding of business and management principles, including strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, scheduling, leadership, and compliance with building codes.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees, supervise and mentor teams, foster open communication, and identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Excellent judgment, active listening, accountability, and decision-making skills to resolve complex issues with employees, subcontractors, customers, and management.
  • Ability to remain flexible and effectively adjust to shifting priorities and evolving circumstances.
  • Commitment to customer service excellence, with the ability to assess needs and satisfaction against quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills (reading, writing, verbal English) to ensure safe practices, efficient collaboration, and accurate reporting.
  • Proficiency with technology and software, including iPad/iOS, Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Project.
  • CAD software proficiency preferred.
  • Physical ability to stand, climb, bend, kneel, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry objects; maintain endurance for strenuous tasks; and safely maneuver in tight spaces and at varying heights. Occasionally lift up-to-90lbs, frequently lift up-to-50lbs.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.


Education, Training, and Experience

  • Minimum of five years managing large construction projects.
  • Experience in agricultural process systems, particularly grain storage/handling and feed mill facilities preferred.
  • Proven ability to supervise subcontractors and project teams while managing all on-site activities.


Work Context

  • Majority of time spent traveling or staying near job sites during construction/start-up phases.
  • Balance of responsibilities between site supervision, employee/subcontractor management, and office work.
  • Regular interaction with owners, administration, co-workers, vendors, and customers via face-to-face meetings, phone, email, and text.
  • Use of required protective equipment (safety harness, hard hats, steel-toed shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection).
  • Working knowledge of crane rigging and safety.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations.
  • Exposure to loud noise environments.


Special Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment work-style survey, PPPO, physical exam, and drug screening.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Nebraska Class A CDL preferred.
