Description

The Roofing Project Manager serves as L. Wallace Construction Company's management representative and is primarily responsible for the safe and successful completion of assigned projects within budget, on schedule, in accordance with Company quality standards, and to the customer’s satisfaction. This role is responsible for leading the project team through all phases of the project, including scheduling, budgeting, risk mitigation, safety compliance, quality control, and overall project execution. The Project Manager is expected to take initiative, effectively manage project activities, and proactively address challenges to ensure successful project completion.

Qualifications
  • Strong ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to respond to questions from project stakeholders.

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.

  • Experience developing and negotiating subcontractor scopes of work.

  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with management, clients, subcontractors, and general contractors.

  • Skilled in communicating project status updates to executive management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating systems, and email platforms.

  • Ability to develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules effectively.

  • Experience with Sage 100 Contractor and RMS software preferred.

  • Minimum of three years of roofing project management experience required.

This position requires the ability to work in both office and field environments, including sitting for extended periods of 5–8 hours per day in a jobsite trailer while performing administrative, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and project coordination duties. The role also requires the ability to walk and navigate active construction sites for extended periods, including uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, rooftops, and confined spaces, while working in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be able to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and occasionally lift or carry materials or equipment weighing up to 25–50 pounds. The ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), perform detailed visual inspections, communicate effectively with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, and respond quickly to changing project conditions and jobsite emergencies is essential.
