The Staff Pad is looking for a Project Superintendent in the
DFW Area, Texas. We have partnered with a construction company that specializes in commercial construction like retail, restaurants, offices and industrial
sites. They take pride in delivering peace of mind to their clients as they are
partners from beginning to end. The Project Superintendent will be
the primary point of contact on the job site, leading all field activities,
supervising subcontractors, and ensuring effective coordination between the
project team, owners, design teams, and other stakeholders. A key aspect of
this role is to maintain proper communication between all parties involved,
ensuring that all project objectives are met and that any issues are quickly
identified and resolved. In addition to overseeing day-to-day activities, you
will be responsible for organizing and leading both onsite subcontractor and
owner meetings, providing timely updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring the
project stays on track. Effective communication and collaboration are critical
for the success of the project, and the Project Superintendent must demonstrate
exceptional leadership in driving a cohesive, cooperative environment on site.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee
the daily operations on-site, coordinating all field activities, including
subcontractors, materials, and equipment, to ensure the project stays on
schedule and within budget.
- Lead
and manage all subcontractors to ensure their work is performed
efficiently, safely, and according to contract specifications. Ensure that
all trades maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Monitor
and enforce adherence to the project timeline. Adjust the schedule as
needed in response to changes or unforeseen conditions while ensuring that
work progresses on time.
- Enforce
construction safety protocols and ensure that all workers, subcontractors,
and suppliers adhere to OSHA standards and the company’s safety policies.
Ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans, drawings, and
specifications.
- Ensure
clear, open, and consistent communication between the project team,
owners, the design team, subcontractors, and company leadership.
- Foster
a team oriented
environment where all parties are aligned and working towards common
project goals.
- Schedule
and conduct regular onsite meetings with subcontractors to review project
status, address any concerns, and ensure alignment with the overall
project timeline and quality standards.
- Provide
direction, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all trades are on track to
meet project goals.
- Facilitate
regular meetings with project owners to provide updates on project
progress, address any questions or concerns, and discuss potential changes
in scope or schedule. Maintain strong relationships with owners by being
responsive, transparent, and proactive in addressing their needs.
- Ensure
that all meeting outcomes, action items, and deadlines are clearly
documented and shared with all relevant parties.
- Follow
up on action items to ensure accountability and timely resolution of
issues.
- Inspect
all work to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes,
and industry standards. Address any quality issues immediately and provide
guidance to subcontractors to correct deficiencies
- Perform
regular onsite inspections, both scheduled and unscheduled, to ensure
quality control and safety standards are maintained throughout the
construction process.
- Manage
the flow of materials, equipment, and labor on-site to ensure that the
project has the resources it needs to continue progressing smoothly.
- Ensure
that all materials arrive on time, are stored properly, and are used
efficiently to avoid delays or cost overruns
- Proactively
manage and resolve any scheduling conflicts or delays, ensuring that all
subcontractors are coordinated to prevent downtime or inefficiencies.
- Work
closely with the Project Manager to track and manage project costs,
ensuring that work is completed within the allocated budget. Report any
potential cost overruns or savings.
- Identify
and communicate any changes to the project scope, ensuring that change
orders are processed and that both the cost and schedule impacts are
addressed and understood by all stakeholders.
- Maintain
a proactive safety culture on-site by conducting regular safety meetings,
enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring
compliance with all safety protocols.
- Identify
potential risks to the project schedule, quality, or safety and take
appropriate steps to mitigate these risks, minimizing delays or accidents.
- Ensure
that all necessary project documentation, including change orders, RFIs
(Requests for Information), and approvals, is accurately recorded and
readily available for future reference.
- Communicate
effectively with the Project Superintendent, design teams, and company
leadership to address challenges and keep the project on track.
- Lead
the final stages of the project, ensuring that all work is completed to
satisfaction, punch list items are addressed, and the project is delivered
on time and within budget.
- Work
with the owner and design team to conduct a thorough final inspection of
the site and resolve any outstanding issues before final project sign-of
- Ensure
all necessary documentation, including warranties, manuals, and as-built
drawings, are prepared for the client at project closeout.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 10+ years of experience in commercial construction,
with a proven track record in managing ground-up projects and field operations.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management,
Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent practical
experience.
• Certifications: OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and other
relevant certifications (preferred).
• Skills:
- Exceptional
leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse
teams and resolve conflicts efficiently.
- Strong
knowledge of construction processes, project scheduling, safety standards,
and quality control.
- Proficiency
in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend,
Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong
organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple
tasks effectively.
- Knowledge
of construction contracts and change order processes.
