QC Inspector - Decatur, AL

Turner Industries Group, LLC is looking for a qualified QC Inspector for our Decatur, AL facility. This position will inspect, accept and/or reject work performed in compliance with applicable codes and specifications.

* Must have experience in pressure vessel inspection in accordance with ASME Section VIII Div 1.

* Must have an associates degree or higher

* Knowledge in welding, dimensional inspections, material traceability, shop inspections, and NDE

Functional Requirements:

Develops an understanding and working knowledge of the company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work; performs inspections and witnesses tests to determine acceptability of work. Performs audits to ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements; defines corrective measures for problem areas and ensures implementation; maintains work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assures correctness of all documents; performs additional assignments as required.

Qualification Standards:

• AWS/CWI Certifications, preferred
• Minimum five (5) years experience in all aspects of welding
• Visual Inspection of Welds VT Level II (Required)
• NDE Certifications/Experience and Radiographic Film Interpretation (RFI), preferred
• Safety equipment must be worn when required and/or necessary for the safe completion of the job at hand (e.g. hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, seat belt, safety harness with lanyard, hearing protection, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others at the work place

Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures etc. above and below ground, maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures etc., reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate office equipment; lifting, standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction

Mental Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects, picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked, following oral and/or written directions; plans and blueprints reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards

Work Environment Factors:
Location: industrial construction site, and/or fabrication group
Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground levels; obstructed pathways, work performed at low and/or high elevations, work performed in confined areas
Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain etc., various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment etc. potential exposure to chemical substances

Miscellaneous Requirements:
There will be times that the individual may be required to perform a task other than their normal operation as required by the company or management, owing to the job demand.
