The Reconstruction Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of reconstruction projects. This role ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards. The Superintendent delivers exceptional service in all interactions with customers, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams involved in construction and rebuild services. Strong interdepartmental communication is essential to ensure alignment, smooth project flow, and timely coordination across all teams.

Primary Responsibilities
Project Setup & Customer Communication
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with customers to review expectations and project details.
- Clearly set expectations on a project-by-project basis.
- Provide consistent updates to customers and clients, including daily narratives.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with internal departments (Office, Mitigation, Contents, etc.) to ensure project alignment and readiness.
- Perform final walk-throughs and secure signed Completion of Work and Certificate of Satisfaction forms.
Scoping, Budgeting & Documentation
- Scope jobs and enter detailed notes into Docusketch.
- Request estimates through Docusketch.
- Once estimate is approved, create job budgets.
- Ensure all job documentation is completed in both WC 2.0 and Homebase.
- Execute and document change orders as needed.
Subcontractor Management
- Source and procure qualified subcontractors.
- Ensure subcontracted work can be completed at no less than a 43% gross profit margin (GPM).
- Schedule subcontractors and ensure they have access, materials, and job readiness.
- Provide evaluations and ratings of all subcontractors and vendors.
- Work with the contents team to coordinate pack-outs when required.
Quality Control & Job Execution
- Maintain quality standards through regular site inspections.
- Ensure all work performed complies with plans, specifications, local codes, and scope requirements.
- Maintains thorough, accurate, and timely job notes while consistently following established company processes, standards, and documentation requirements.
- Compile, manage, and resolve punch list items.
- Oversee project progression and troubleshoot issues proactively.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong track record of customer service.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math competency.
- Experience in restoration and/or construction preferred.
- Demonstrates a willingness and ability to learn and effectively use industry-specific software, including Xactimate, Docusketch, Homebase, WorkCenter, Microsoft Office Suite and Dext.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Walking and standing for extended periods.
- Frequent driving and sitting.
- Occasional ladder climbing.
- This role may occasionally require accessing confined or limited spaces, including crawlspaces and attics, as part of on-site project oversight and inspections.
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures or outdoor elements.
- Jobsite noise levels may be loud.
- Clean driving record required.
Normal Working Hours, Additional Hours & Travel
This is a full-time role working 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., five days per week. The position may require on-call work, weekend work, local travel to job sites, and occasional out-of-area or overnight travel.
