Overview

As a Field Mechanic you will be responsible for preventive maintenance, repairing, and emergency repairs for heavy construction equipment with a primary focus on hydraulics, electrical, pneumatic, engine (Gas and Diesel) troubleshooting systems and welding fabrication required. CMV driver qualification required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, repair and emergency repairs on RoadGuards fleet of equipment that involves heavy construction equipment, some proprietary equipment, and other smaller pieces of equipment.

  • Physical Demands

    • Work in all weather conditions; extreme heat and cold conditions
    • Work on uneven ground
    • Ability to ascend and descend access points on equipment
    • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Ability to drive a company vehicle
    • Ability to drive for up to 11 hours
    • Ability to pass CMV driver requirements

     

    Travel: Heavy regional travel, typically within 2-4 hours of home base.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of heavy construction equipment and repair field experience required
  • 5+ years of hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting experience required
  • 5+ years of Diesel troubleshooting, and repair experience required
  • Experience/certification to operate fork lifts
  • The ability to travel extensively for work regionally
  • Welding experience

Working in team environment: customer service-people skills

 

Preferred qualifications:

    • Licensing/certification as a mechanic highly desired
    • Trade School/College degree preferred
    • CAT Certifications preferred
    • Komatsu Certifications preferred
    • Hydraulic training preferred
    • Electrical Training preferred
    • After treatment troubleshooting training preferred
    • Heavy equipment experience
  • Pay Range: $33/Hr
