Job Title: Student Worker - Construction Assistant - Waco Habitat for Humanity

Work Schedule: Flexible working hours Available working hours are  Wednesday - Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Spring

Pay Rate: $12.00 

Job Description: 

Assist Construction Manager and Construction Supervisor in the construction of affordable single-family residential homes. Prepare job site for volunteers, supervise Habitat homeowners and other volunteers in construction tasks, deliver materials to work site and other duties as assigned. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Able to lift 50 lbs., work outdoors in all weather conditions, physically able to stand and walk for the majority of the workday, walk and climb on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and stairs. Be able to bend, lift, grasp, reach, push and pull materials/tools to move them in and out of vehicles and around the constructions site. Ability to use power tools.

Attentive, empathetic, collaborative, and harmonious interpersonal skills. Ability to relate well with all constituents, including staff, paitnering families, volunteers, business, religious and political communities

MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL WORK-STUDY.

This is an off-campus employment, reliable transportation is important.

Must have 2-3 hours blocks of time to work.

  • Provide support and assistance in a respective area of community service  
  • Assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to community service  
  • Provide excellent customer service to constituents  
  • Utilize available resources to perform duties accordingly  
  • Serve to enhance outreach for the greater Waco community  
  • Must be federal work study eligible
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
