SUMMARY:
The Superintendent is responsible for the overall management and oversight of multiple construction projects and the supervision of field foremen. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget, while promoting company culture, quality, and customer service. The Superintendent acts as a senior technical advisor, develops best practice construction methods, and serves as the company's representative to clients, engineers, and contractors.
* THIS IS A REMOTE WORK OPPORTUNITY THAT WILL REQUIRE EXTENSIVE TRAVEL. A CANDIDATE MAY LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES. NO RELOCATION WILL BE REQUIRED.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise, coach, train, and develop field foremen and skilled trade workers.
Ensure all projects operate safely, adhere to company policies/procedures, and comply with MSHA/OSHA regulations.
Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules and budgets; report progress and variances to management.
Serve as the senior technical advisor for all field construction and start-up issues.
Interface and build relationships with owners, customers, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors.
Manage the performance of employees, including conducting appraisals and authorizing personnel transactions.
Regularly inspect work for quality and timeliness; make recommendations for necessary modifications.
Manage the utilization, storage, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Lead by example with an emphasis on safety and participate in Visible Felt Leadership (VFL).
Maintain strict confidentiality on sensitive employment and compensation matters.
Travel as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 7 years of experience in a superintendent or similar position (industrial construction preferred).
Thorough understanding of legal construction requirements and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
Ability to read blueprints/schematic drawings, identify problems, and solve them efficiently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to oversee and motivate diverse teams.
Ability to work long shifts, be on-call, and traverse/inspect all areas of a jobsite in various weather conditions, including the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Willingness to travel extensively.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug test, background check, MVR check, and physical screenings.
EDUCATION:
Bachelorβs degree in Construction Management or related field is a strong plus..
Experience with project management or consulting is a plus.
