The Systems Administrator reports to the IT Director and is a member of the Information Technology Team. This position assists team members with support, maintenance and optimization of core network services, devices, and communications systems. He or she works alongside senior team members to provide logistical support, respond to queries, document changes, and assist with testing, assessment and diagnosis of current hardware and software configurations. Under the direct supervision of the IT Director, he/she maintains computer systems and may configure devices, enable services, or respond to end user requests for troubleshooting. The Systems Administrator will have a good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. This Systems Administrator position is based out of Cadence McShane Construction’s Austin, TX office with periodic travel to branch offices on an as-needed basis.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information, and Mobile Device Management software
  • Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer network and all connected PCs and peripherals; participates in planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication link
  • Analyzes and resolves end-user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provides end user training where required
  • Establish and maintain storage best-practices in SharePoint sites and document libraries
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science
  • Experience or willingness to learn construction industry best-practices for MS Teams and SharePoint administration
  • Microsoft, Cisco (Meraki) and/or other technical certifications a plus
  • Proven work experience in Information Technology
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems and administration
  • Experience in project management, application integration, and cloud computing
  • Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, and virtualization, and remote replication
  • Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows 2016/2019/2022 Server
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Strong customer-service orientation. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
