Position: T&D Estimator (Electrical Construction)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Estimator with expertise in electrical construction. This is a pivotal role within a dynamic and growing team where you will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for utility-scale transmission and distribution projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in project estimation for both overhead and underground powerline construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive and competitive cost estimates for high-voltage transmission and distribution projects.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing, including detailed analysis and comparison of proposals.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to gather information on labor, materials, and other costs.
Identify risks and develop contingency strategies to enhance the accuracy and reliability of cost projections.
Prepare detailed bid packages and ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and project specifications.
Utilize estimation software and tools to produce and manage estimates efficiently.
Maintain a database of historical costs to improve the accuracy of future bids.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and conditions.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in cost estimation for electrical construction, specifically in transmission and distribution.
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including substations, powerlines, and related infrastructure.
Proficiency with estimation software such as Bid2Win, Accubid, or similar tools.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing project scopes.
Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
