Position Purpose

This position is responsible for performing the function of Product Control line-feeding, material outages and shortages. 

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and oversee the daily activities of team members responsible for delivering materials to line-side to prevent manufacturing part shortages when material is available
  • Actively support and develop the team and team members
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams
  • Continuously measure and improve safety, quality, efficiency and cost
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and team meetings
  • Provide training and feedback to fellow team members to help facilitate JCB Production System
  • Must be able to perform the team leader role and responsibilities as outlined on the JCB production system
  • Champion and maintain 5S practices and procedures

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four years of experience in material handling in a manufacturing environment
  • Must pass applicable drug screens, background checks and pre-employment tests
  • High school diploma

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree
  • Six years of experience in material handling in a manufacturing environment

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • Knowledge and ability to operate a forklift or tug or the demonstrated ability to learn
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and self-directed
  • Multi-task while maintaining a sense of urgency
  • Flexibility with work activities; available for overtime
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
  • Ability to operate various hand tools, forklift and tug
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required

  • Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities.  These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
  • Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
  • Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
  • Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
