The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Temporary Construction Technician in Rawlins, WY to perform basic construction tasks under supervision to provide a safe and effective transportation system.
This is a temporary, full-time position that could last up to 9 months.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
Construction tasks include performing basic lab tests and survey procedures.
Perform construction inspections.
Prepare and check computations and data.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to individuals who can perform algebraic calculations.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of materials testing.
Knowledge of surveying methods and equipment operations.
Knowledge of construction inspection, which includes interpretation of plans and specifications.
Skill in the use of computers.
Strong math skills are required.
Ability to perform algebraic calculations

Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
This position requires working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Individuals in this classification must be available for work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Acceptance of an appointment to this classification signifies that the individual is aware of this requirement and will comply with it.
