Construction/ Civil Architect

**Immediate Opportunity**

CSEngineering is seeking a highly qualified Construction / Civil Architect to support the 17th Civil Engineer Squadron (17 CES) at Goodfellow Air Force Base. This role supports Facility Sustainment, Restoration & Modernization (FSRM), Military Construction (MILCON), and Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) programs in direct support of U.S. Air Force mission requirements.

CLIENT OVERVIEW

The 17th Civil Engineer Squadron (17 CES) supports Facility Sustainment, Restoration & Modernization (FSRM), MILCON (Military Construction) and Non-Appropriated (NAF) programs. The Engineering Flight is responsible for portfolio optimization, community planning, environmental planning, program development, energy, design and construction management, installation geospatial information service and comprehensive asset management plan integration. They provide project management to include design, contract execution and construction oversight. The flight also provides installation mapping, facility floor plan maintenance and engineering record drawing management. This work is for specific functions related to Air Force Program Management, Cost Estimating, Architectural/Engineering Design and Construction Management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, renovate, alter, and remodel facilities including elevators, command centers, fire stations, dormitories, and other base infrastructure.
  • Review architectural and civil designs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), stakeholder requirements, and contract specifications.
  • Conduct Architectural Assessments (including Architectural Barrier/ABA assessments) and integrate findings into Construction Document (CD) packages.
  • Lead and facilitate multidisciplinary design review meetings (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) to ensure schedule adherence and stakeholder alignment.
  • Provide civil/architectural design expertise for contract programming, facility design, and construction projects.
  • Ensure all assigned projects comply with governing plans, specifications, contract terms, and Air Force standards.
  • Develop design guides, standards documentation, prototype designs, and cost projections.
  • Prepare and review policy documents, design manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure full compliance with DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), Air Force Instructions (AFIs), and applicable regulations.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Security Clearance: Public Trust

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • 3–9 years of civil/architectural experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Air Force or other DoD/government construction programs
  • In-depth knowledge of Air Force organizational structures, command relationships, and Civil Engineer Squadron operations
  • Experience working with SABER contracts for civil engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of Construction Document (CD) packages and architectural deliverables
  • Experience coordinating and leading multidisciplinary design review meetings
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, track milestones, and provide status updates
