Effectively assesses and prioritizes opportunities to bid as well as evaluate project’s potential profitability.
Accurately details proposals and assesses all factors of MAREK’s project scope which may affect cost, including probable scope which may have been left out or is unspecified.
Obtain current construction documents for projects related to MAREK’s scope of work for pricing accordingly.
Prepare shop drawings, product submittals and other project related information for distribution to project team.
Reviews plan, drawings, specifications, schedule, and may visit construction site to note geographic features, site access, logistics for material staging, etc.
Breaks down all expenses (including labor, materials, equipment, and other resources), factors in the schedule, risks or constraints, customer relationship, supplier relationships, market pricing, other bidders, and plans the project budget.
Coordinates project field measurements and product orders in a timely manner and in line with MAREK standard operating procedures for collaboration between team members.
Assist team members with material orders, sub-contractor payments, project questions, and any other general assistance that will prevent production delays.
Prepare and update project budgets and bid reports.
Analyze historical costs and evaluate effectiveness of current pricing information. Consult with team members when discrepancies are found in cost data.
Communicates with clients to obtain and evaluate any additional job specific information, including walking prospective jobs with customers to resolve potential design issues.
Champions MAREK’s Safety program.
Business Development
Invests time learning the industry and who the players are, including customers and competitors.
Builds rapport quickly with new contacts and begins building credibility and a network of customer contacts.
Participates in customer meetings may be alongside a more senior MAREK representative.
Maintain knowledge of wall assemblies, ceiling assemblies, and other drywall methods utilized as passive fire protection systems.
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field of study or high school diploma/GED with equivalent work experience.
Experience
2+ years of progressive experience in the construction industry.
Field experience or exposure a plus.
Experience with Architectural AutoCAD detailer preferred.
Experience or exposure to estimating, scheduling, and/or project management technology a plus. (Quick Bid, On-Screen Take-Off, Project Management and blueprint collaboration software such as Blue Beam Revu, Plan Grid, etc.)
