Core Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:

  1. Payroll Processing:
    • Timesheet Accuracy: Review and verify timesheets submitted by employees to ensure hours, overtime, and adjustments are correctly recorded.
    • Data Entry: Accurately enter payroll information into databases and spreadsheets, maintaining records for audits and compliance.
    • Direct Deposits & Paper Checks: Process direct deposit requests and distribute paper checks as needed, including securing signatures and approvals as required.
    • Garnishments and Adjustments: Handle wage garnishments, child support deductions, and other legal obligations. Ensure timely and accurate adjustments in pay, including raises, bonuses, and commissions.
  2. Employee Support:
    • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, direct deposits, garnishments, tax forms, and other payroll-related questions.
    • Work collaboratively with HR to troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

Requirements of the Payroll Specialist:

  • Education:
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 Years in Multi State Payroll Processing: Hands-on experience with payroll procedures, data entry, and payroll software.
    • NetSuite Experience: Preferred familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP software to streamline payroll processes.
  • Skills:
    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing timesheets, data entry, and payroll adjustments.
    • Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Proficient in Excel, including knowledge of formulas and data analysis tools to manage and track payroll data.
    • Technical Proficiency: Experience with CRM software, databases, and reporting tools to enhance payroll and employee record-keeping efficiency.
