Vest Sewing Operator

The purpose of this job description is to provide a high-level overview of the role, scope and responsibilities. The Machine Operator assembles harnesses via sewing, under the supervision and direction of the production supervisor and/or department manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs bar tack sewing machine operations to make subassemblies and to support the vest assembly

• Performs webbing cutting machine operations to make vest subassemblies

• Performs snap fastener machine operations to make vest subassemblies

• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor

• Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required 

• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

• Follows the manufacturing schedule

• Immediately reports to the Supervisor or Manager of any unsafe condition in the work area

• Covers any other team members as required or needed by the business

• Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching

• Receive complaints and resolve problems

• Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures

  OTHER DUTIES

• All employees must be familiar with AS9100 standard

• All employees must be familiar with the ISO14001 standard

• All employees must be familiar with the standards, policies and procedures pertaining to their position

  PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• One year of manufacturing experience or experience as machine operator
